At Syracuse University, students journey through the blizzard-filled, harsh Winters to find an empty bar, or a crowd leaving a house party. A group of students decided to create a site to simplify locating social events nearby; parties, bar specials, concerts, & nightclub events. This way users would know which nightlife options they have, on any day/night in real-time. When the website was first created, the goal was to help college students inform their friends, and other students of house parties they were throwing or budget-friendly bar specials to take advantage of. It has evolved into much more.

What's Special?

Fiesta Frog's algorithm considers personal preferences, proximity, and time to present users with multiple nightlife options such as concerts, parties and club events.
Allows users to follow one another and invite their followers to events without having to select each person individually, unlike its "Events" counterpart on Facebook.
Fiesta Frog uses a proprietary promotion engine to virally market events, while also being a user-friendly way to find local nightlife.
Events are ranked in real-time by start time and proximity, to the user, allowing them to decide between nearest.

The website has since spread to several metropolitan cities and offers information on nearby parties, nightlife, and happy hours in Albany, New York City, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. We are fulfilling our mission by spreading the website to even more cities and college towns. They are preparing for this by having completed the mobile version of the website, in hopes of leveraging the recent increase in internet use via mobile phones and tablets.
