Florida Virtual Academy to Showcase Their Successful Online Public School at K-12 Conference and Innovation Fair

    ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Florida Virtual
 Academy (FLVA), the state's top-scoring K-8 public virtual school, will
 exhibit their innovative education model and record of high test scores and
 student achievement at the 2007 K-12 Conference and Innovation Fair held
 October 2-5 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando.
     The conference, sponsored by the Florida Department of Education and
 Florida Education Foundation, will focus on innovative approaches to
 improving student achievement and highlight the state's best model
 academies and programs to other schools looking to implement such programs
 of their own.
     For the past 4 years, FLVA was the top-scoring K-8 online public school
 in the state, posting strong scores on the 2007 Florida Comprehensive
 Assessment Tests (FCAT). FLVA students scoring proficient or higher have
 consistently exceeded the state averages in most grades and subjects
 tested. More than 900 students from all across the state are enrolled in
     FLVA, which has reached its enrollment cap for the 2007-2008 school
