Flyguides Publishes Free GA Child-Safety Checklist

WILMINGTON, Del., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Flyguides Pilot Travel, the web's
most comprehensive general aviation travel resource, has published a free,
downloadable, printable infant and child safety seat checklist for general
aviation pilots. The checklist accompanies December's Right Seat Matters
column by Heather Rose on child safety aboard GA airplanes.
"Heather's article and the checklist help GA pilots navigate the confusing
and sometimes contradictory language of FAA and NTSB websites about child
safety seats," said Flyguides publisher Jim Hart. "Our checklist helps GA
pilots ensure they're doing everything they can to secure their smaller
passengers - and stay within the regulations."
The regulations are sometimes counter-intuitive. For example, contrary to
current thinking on child safety seats for motor vehicles, child seats
incorporating a belt-positioning booster seat should not be used aboard
aircraft. The checklist ( gives pilots the facts.
Previous Right Seat Matters columns have addressed issues including flying
with children (how to keep kids busy on board), choosing an airport and FBO on
cross-country journeys, helping GA passengers relax about flying, where to go
(when there's no place to go), making non-pilot right seat passengers more a
part of the fun of GA flying, and the top ten tips for stress-free passengers.
Previous free Flyguides checklists include, Flying With Kids
 (, choosing an airport
( and for FSS toll-free numbers
