NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Transaero Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hertz, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Singapore Airlines, and American Airlines have been named best in class by the readers of Frequent Business Traveler magazine, a publication written by and for the world's most experienced and savvy international travelers.
Marriott International was recognized as the Best Hotel Chain in the Americas and Asia/Pacific, as well as for having the Best Guest Loyalty Program. Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts won two GlobeRunner Awards, one for being the Best Hotel Chain in Europe/Middle East/Africa, the other for Best Hotel Chain Dining/Restaurant.
Transaero Airlines won two GlobeRunner Awards, one for being the Best Airline in Europe/Middle East/Africa, and one for having the Best Airline Food and Wine, giving the carrier its third and fourth GlobeRunner Awards in a three-year period.
For the second year in a row, readers recognized Delta Air Lines as the Best Airline in the Americas and, for the fourth consecutive year, Singapore Airlines won a GlobeRunner Award as the Best Airline in Asia/Pacific.
Honors for Best Airport in the Americas went to San Francisco International Airport, giving the airport its second GlobeRunner Award. Top recognition also went to Mercedes-Benz as the Best Car Manufacturer in the World and Hertz as Best Car Rental Chain in the World, with the latter continuing a four-year winning streak.
For the fourth year in a row, FlyerTalk won as the Best General Travel Site.
The Frequent Business Traveler GlobeRunner Awards recognize the world's best airlines, hotels chains, automobile manufacturers, car rental agencies, luggage manufacturers, and travel websites.
Voting was conducted online from March 24 through June 19, 2015, and over 162,000 votes were cast by readers.
