Free Shipping Deadlines Approach for Online Retailers
NEW YORK, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Monday, December 14th, will be the busiest mailing day of the year according to the US Postal Service and FedEx. For shoppers, this means that free shipping deadlines are rapidly approaching. According to FreeShipping.info's analysis of the Top 500 online retailers, nearly two-thirds say their free standard shipping deadlines to ensure Christmas delivery will be on or before December 18. The average order size to qualify for free shipping is $52.
Kinga Malinowska, founder of FreeShipping.info, a website dedicated to tracking Free Shipping offers, has seen a surge in free shipping promotions and later deadlines compared to last year for Christmas Eve delivery.
Kinga Malinowska said, "The last day for free shipping for most online retailers like Amazon and Hammacher Schlemmer is Thurs. 12/17. This year, a number of online stores like Apple and Overstock.com have been able to stretch their free shipping deadlines to Sat 12/19. Meanwhile, the last chance for Barnes & Noble and free delivery is Sun. 12/20. If you're still procrastinating next week, Best Buy is offering $0.99 Shipping on all orders by Mon. 12/21 and Dell Home has popular systems delivered in 48 hours - making the final free shipping deadline Tues. 12/22."
