Fresh & Easy Opens in Pasadena
Company Announces Opening Date for Delano Location
PASADENA, Calif., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market today opened a store in Pasadena at the intersection of California & Lake. This location carries a long grocery tradition and was originally opened as a Jergensen's in 1935. Today's opening is Fresh & Easy's 121st store to open and its 65th in Southern California.
Fresh & Easy Vice President and General Counsel Mary Kasper was joined by Mayor Bill Bogaard and dozens of neighbors to officially open the store. Along with local civic leaders and Fresh & Easy customers, representatives from the Pasadena Humane Society came out for the opening celebration and were presented with a $1,000 donation from the company. The Humane Society provides animal care for abandoned and homeless animals and was selected to receive this donation by the neighborhood and store staff.
"We are excited to continue opening and hiring for positions in new neighborhoods throughout Southern California, particularly in these tough economic times," said Kasper. "We look forward to bringing fresh, wholesome food to our new neighbors here in Pasadena and we're excited to be part of the community."
Fresh & Easy today also announced plans to open a store at the intersection of Cecil & High in Delano, California on August 19th. The company announced plans last month to open three additional stores in California on July 29th: one in Oxnard and two in Santa Barbara County (Lompoc and Orcutt).
Based on customer feedback, Fresh & Easy announced it will be introducing over 1,000 new products to existing stores over the summer. Customers should expect to see more fresh&easy brand products, larger pack sizes, more national brands, as well as exclusive new lines of national brand quality products at unbelievably low prices. These four stores will open with many of the new products and a few extra shelves and fine-tuning of the space in order to accommodate these items.
