Global Crossing was recognized for its strategic focus, increased name recognition, revenue growth, strong operational results and improvement in customer satisfaction and loyalty levels driven by advanced services.

The company is strongly positioned as a global expert in IP and network technology, and particularly focused on "invest and grow" business, a category that includes revenues coming from global enterprises and carriers, excluding wholesale voice. With a regional infrastructure that consists of 15 metropolitan networks and 15 world-class data centers located in the main business centers of Latin America, the company deploys its regional footprint in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Mexico and Venezuela.

Regarding operational results, for example, the Latin American unit of Global Crossing generated 127 million dollars in "invest and grow" revenues during Q3 2009, which exceeded the 121 million reached in the previous quarter and the 124 million in the same quarter in 2008. This improvement is more relevant considering the challenging period of deep international crisis. On a constant currency basis, revenue was up 9 percent year over year.

"It is a great honor for Global Crossing to be selected as the Latin America Corporate Service Provider of the Year. At Global Crossing, we strive to provide unparalleled service to our customers. Our ongoing successful development as a company has been evident in our continued core business growth with year-over-year improvement reflecting solid demand for our advanced IP-based solutions," said Hector Alonso, Global Crossing managing director for Latin America.

The commitment to deliver a differentiated customer experience at a global level, in a highly commoditized market, has also placed the company one step ahead. During 2008, a Chief Customer Experience Officer was appointed. This role has since been merged with the new CTO/CIO function so that the best technology can be brought to bear on the customer experience. In addition, Global Crossing launched a prototype tool designed to offer fast customer service after a sale, strengthening the service assurance phase. The level of satisfaction of their customers is also significant: as reported by the company, 97% of their clients rated themselves as satisfied in 2008, and 67% were "very satisfied". Moreover, 70% of the new order volumes were originated by existing customers in the same year.

Finally, in Latin America, Global Crossing has been steadily moving towards a more sophisticated offer to cover the corporate client's telecom and IT needs. Apart from storage area network, backup, network monitoring, managed security, and virtual hosting services, the company has implemented advanced services such as a Unified Security Services Portal, allowing its clients to review online the status of all of their security services, interact with specialists from the Security Operation Center (SOC) and access all Information Security-related data (Initial Security, Content Security, Advanced Security, and Professional Services). In addition, through its Network Management Services and using the best practices of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Crossing can manage its customers' communications infrastructure.

The 2009 Frost & Sullivan Latin American Corporate Service Provider of the Year Award is presented to Global Crossing, in recognition of its outstanding ability to grow in the highly competitive and challenging corporate environment in the region, deploying advanced services focused on its clients´ satisfaction.
