Fuddruckers Jumps on 'Freedom Fry' Bandwagon
National Restaurant Chain Joins Growing Symbolic Effort to Support
United States Military
AUSTIN, Texas, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- As of today "Freedom Fries" will
replace French fries on the menus in 200-plus Fuddruckers Restaurant around
the country.
"Our kudos to Neal Rowland, who came up with the idea at Cubbie's, a
restaurant in North Carolina," says Fuddruckers President Bryce King. "We are
proud to become a part of his effort, and the effort of Congressman Bob Ney of
Ohio who has succeeded in changing the menu item in three Congressional
cafeterias."
Fuddruckers owner Michael Cannon, who is British by birth, heard of
Rowland's quest to support our military earlier this week. "I thought what an
excellent idea. Having been raised in England, I have an innate respect for
what all America's fighting men and women have done for us abroad."
Fuddruckers has restaurants near some of the country's biggest military
outposts including Newport News, VA, Annapolis, MD and outside Camp Lejeune in
North Carolina. "We have long had a great relationship with our military.
Now it is our turn to show them how much we appreciate the job they do
protecting us all, here and around the world," adds Cannon.
"Every guest who steps up to a counter at their local Fuddruckers and says
'Give me Freedom Fries,' shows their true support for those who guard our most
important freedoms, especially freedom from fear," says King.
He adds, "We are recognizing those who are prepared to fight for us today,
as well as those who served our country so bravely in the past."
