Fujifilm Highlights Comprehensive and Expanding DR Product Line at RSNA 2011 Evolving FDR product line offers a solution for the varying needs of facilities across the U.S.A.
CHICAGO, Nov. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2011 Annual Meeting, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. will be showcasing one of the most diverse family of DR products on the U.S. market. Traditionally known for its renowned image quality, the medical imaging and informatics company will demonstrate its ability to provide a DR solution for nearly every conventional x-ray need including flat panel detectors, portable systems, room replacements and Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM).
"Fujifilm's expanding line of DR products is, without question, one of the largest on the market to date," says Yoshitaka Nakamura, Vice President of Modality Solutions for Fujifilm. "What once started as a small list of products has evolved dramatically into a large portfolio of DR solutions with an impressive list of recent technological advances," Nakamura continues. "Attendees of RSNA looking for DR solutions to meet the varying needs of their radiology department will find exactly what they are looking for from one company - Fujifilm."
As a foundation of its expanding DR portfolio, Fujifilm initiated a new strategic development program that leverages the company's dedication to developing products that will tackle the issue of dose management, while providing exceptional image quality, without sacrificing ease of use – "Gentle Touch. Brilliant Image." Under the new "Gentle Touch. Brilliant Image." program, Fujifilm will work to meet the varying needs of its constituents – lower dose for patients, extraordinary image quality for radiologists and ease of use for technologists.
The expanding FDR portfolio is strengthened by Fujifilm's patented advanced detector technology – a key factor to the company's renowned image quality and an inspiration behind the company's "Gentle Touch. Brilliant Image." program. Each new FDR system includes Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS),that improves detective quantum efficiency (DQE) by reducing the distance for light signals to reach the sensor. This unique innovation achieves significant dose efficiency improvements compared to similar DR detectors. It also reduces scatter and blur of the fluorescence light, resulting in sharper images with greater detail that enhances diagnostic confidence for the radiologist.
"Whether a clinician needs a lightweight flat panel detector for an orthopedic exam, or a facility wishes to replace an entire x-ray suite, Fujifilm will provide an effective solution from one of the most comprehensive DR product lines on the market," says DavidHotchkiss, Director of Marketing for Modality Solutions at Fujifilm. "Our variety, coupled with our advanced ISS technology and renowned image quality, proves that Fujifilm is the DR provider of choice."
