"Gaynor and I first met over three years ago and I knew then I wanted to work with her," said M.A. Greenstein Ph.D, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer/R&D of the institute. "As a member of our board, Gaynor has already made significant contributions to our long term strategy, business model and the brand we are building in the nascent arena of brain literacy. I couldn't be happier that she has accepted our offer to lead the Institute out of our successful beta period and into the broad marketplace."

Strachan Chun, originally from Scotland, has had a diverse career starting in London, moving to San Francisco to join Chiat/Day during the first period of explosive growth in consumer tech products.

She has been a vocal supporter and advocate of values based, social capital movements for over twenty years, starting with her tenure at Esprit. She continued to advocate for corporate and brand social responsibility while at Oxygen Media and, most recently, Ovation. She has successfully bridged the gaps between product development and market adoption with tremendous success.

Her previous experiences and her passion for the STEM to STEAM movement will support GGI as it develops its brand, solidifies its endowment and launches its revenue generating Inventio!Brain products into the broad marketplace.

Stated Dr. Paul Zak, neuroeconomist, author of The Moral Molecule, and GGI science advisor to GGI, "With Gaynor Strachan Chun's appointment as CEO to GGI, and her plans to blend philanthropy and innovation into a viable business model, I now believe that the relationship between empathy and prosperity that I have been exploring for years in my lab, is emerging. Leaders like Gaynor are taking to heart what we are finding in the lab and translating it to create have high performing brands that improve human lives and create a stronger society. It's very exciting."

With this move to GGI, Strachan Chun aims to focus her career primarily on the integration of Science+Arts, and what she believes is the resurgence of the dual role of philanthropy and product based innovation to drive revenue.

"I am honored to have been asked to join as the CEO of GGI, and to be a part of its remarkable leadership and vision in the area of applied brain knowledge and to be a steward of what will be one of the breakthrough brands of this new era of the brain," said Strachan Chun. "In the past philanthropy and capitalism have been thought of as very separate entities, yet there is a tradition of Capitalists being great Philanthropists. As the public demands the brands they support act in a socially responsible manner it is only natural that new business models are emerging that unite philanthropy and capitalism under one umbrella. I believe it is possible to be pragmatic and daring in the world of innovation and social responsibility: we can take investment from many sources, be self sufficient so we can do good while we create a deep, positive impact for those we serve and the market we will create. It's an exciting time to be moving organizations into the new age of self actualized, socially focused capital expansion."

More announcements will be made on the model, products and services and team working with Strachan Chun in the coming months.
