The Israel Manufacturers Association developed the quality label for Dead Sea products with the aim of drawing a line between the original Dead Sea cosmetics manufacturers and the pirate industry. Manufacturers of genuine Dead Sea products, including mud, lotions, creams, and spa products, guarantee protection, sustainable moisturization, and even eternally young skin. They are required to prove that the source of a mud mask is actually the Dead Sea and not some nearby stream, and that the expensive face cream actually contains an appropriate concentration of minerals from the lowest sea in the world - not just table salt!
"The main criterion for being awarded the label is the Dead Sea mineral content," explains Nurit Feibisch-Josef, in charge of the cosmetics branch at the Manufacturers' Association. "Bath salts or mud must contain almost 100% Dead Sea material, while skin products for sensitive areas such as the face and eyes require low concentrations. Either way, the amount must be significant." Feibisch emphasizes that "we shall be refusing labels to companies that do not meet the criteria throughout the whole process."
The event has been organized by The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute and the Israel Manufacturers' Association, with the help of the Israel Economic Mission in New York.
Manufacturers with the quality label who will participate in the event include, B4U, Biscol, CANAAN - CHIC COSMETIC, InterCosma, Odeyah, Paloma Dead Sea, Sea of Spa - Dead Sea, Spa Cosmetics, Spider Pharm Industries, etc.
