Global MobileTech Mobile Marketing Platform Allows Easy Transfer of Rewards Points' Value to Charities Chosen By MaxCents Community Members
SPOKANE, Wash., May 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Participants in the new mobile marketing program MaxCents, scheduled for introduction in the fourth quarter of 2012 in West Malaysia, will have the opportunity to donate the monetary value of rewards points that they earn to a charity of their choice, Global MobileTech, Inc. (OTCBB:GLMB) reported today.
Global MobileTech (www.globalmobiletech.com), a leading provider of location-based mobile marketing and user community-based platform in Asia, owns a 30 percent stake in the MaxCents mobile marketing portal. The other joint venture members of MaxCents are Hong Kong-based IT and Internet products provider First Asset Holdings and Ridzuan Mohd Jusoh, a former senior executive of FELDA, the world's largest government community development agency principally producing cash crops of rubber and palm oil in Malaysia.
"The objective of MaxCents is to help consumers lower living costs and also to be able to pass some of those savings to charitable organizations of their own choosing," explained Global MobileTech's Chief Executive Officer Mohd Aris Bernawi. "Consumers have demonstrated that they are often motivated by charitable considerations, and we believe the MaxCents program will provide a way to do so easily."
Participants in the MaxCents program will be able to donate the value of the rewards points earned by allowing advertisements to appear on their mobile phones as well as by participating in promotions offered by the network's advertisers.
"The MaxCents community is comprised of three principal constituent groups, namely; advertisers/merchants, community members and charitable organizations all of which are connected by Global MobileTech's mobile marketing platform," Bernawi said. "The members receive not only special promotions tailored to their specific interests, but they also receive reward points that they can use to make international telephone calls or to send text messages. As an alternative, the community members can donate the value of the points that they earn ($0.01 per point) to charity."
"An important constituent of MaxCents, of course, is the advertisers/merchants, who have the ability to micro-target their offerings to a community with similar interests," Bernawi continued. "And then there are the charitable organizations that have the ability to benefit from the very significant value of the rewards points that are earned by the community members."
