Aug 02, 2002, 01:00 ET from Glory Foods, Inc.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Glory Foods is celebrating its 10th
anniversary, as a provider of Southern-style products including uniquely
seasoned canned vegetables, Glory Foods Southern Selections frozen entrees and
side dishes; and washed and ready to cook fresh-cut bagged greens and sweet
potatoes. "Celebrating 10 Years of Southern Goodness," is a major milestone
for a company that began with a simple idea of offering Southern-style foods
easy to prepare for today's busy lifestyle -- slow-simmered seasoned canned
Collard Greens, Blackeye Peas and Homestyle Corn Bread Mix. For the past 10
years Glory Foods has kept that promise. Glory Foods canned vegetables are
now available in over 140 major supermarket chains in 31 states.
Glory Foods has real cause to celebrate, and invites its customers to join
in the celebration over the next two weeks, with the nationally syndicated,
Russ Parr Morning Show with Olivia Fox for an 11-city bus tour. Russ and
Olivia's Back to School Bus Tour, co-sponsored by Glory Foods, is an 11-city
tour of the Radio One, Inc. national affiliate stations, and will feature live
morning show broadcasts in each of the 11 cities, plus prizes and computer
giveaways. Glory Foods gift baskets, canned Collard Greens, Smoked Flavored
Turkey Turnip Greens, Blackeye Peas, Corn Bread Mixes and Hot Sauce will be
distributed at select retail outlets in each of the markets.
"This represents a tremendous opportunity to celebrate our 10th
anniversary with our customers and to thank them for their support over the
years," said Theresa Potter, Director of Sales Promotion, Glory Foods, Inc.
"This is the first time we have participated in a promotion that takes us on
the road and allows us to impact so many people personally, but it's important
that our customers know we appreciate them. Glory Foods has experienced
tremendous growth over the years, and we couldn't have achieved this success
and stability without the support of our customers," said Potter.
The bus tour begins in Dallas, Texas, August 5 at KBFB-FM, and will travel
to St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Dayton, Charlotte, Raleigh,
Richmond, Boston and end with a grand finale August 19 in Washington, D.C.,
the home base of the Russ Parr Morning Show with Olivia Fox, which airs
weekdays, 6-10 a.m. ET in over 30 major markets nationwide.
