Nissan Altima in Wisconsin Brings the Heat to New York
GREEN BAY, Wis., April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- New features have been added to the 2013 Nissan Altima, which will debut during the 2012 New York Auto Show. As one of America's top-selling vehicles, the Altima is a highly anticipated attraction at the auto show. Equipped with an all-new lightweight powertrain and chassis, the Altima's most significant change will give the vehicle a more efficient drive than ever. Capable of achieving best-in-class fuel economy, the newest Altima reaches up 27 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg combined. This midsize sedan leads all others in its class.
With a new 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine, the refreshed Altima's engine will weigh 11 pounds less thanks to a new lightweight design. The engine will also improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, noise and friction. Low-rolling-resistance tires and a new alternator with regenerative technology will help improve overall performance and fuel efficiency.
Another slim-down occurring in the Altima is in the body and chassis. 80 pounds are being shed thanks to an aluminum hood and high-strength steel. These changes will improve rigidity and performance. The size of the vehicle's body has not changed, but it has been refined for a quicker, smoother more responsive ride.
Expected to hit dealerships in July of this year, the Altima is sure to get Nissan enthusiasts amped up. Other improvements in the vehicle are in the tech department. Outfitted with the automaker's first multimedia system, the Altima will receive NissanConnect, which features navigation, Bluetooth, Pandora internet radio and Google Maps functionality.
