OCEANSIDE, Calif., May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GOBankingRates praises Pacific Marine Credit Union's continual financial support of wounded military, notably its donation of $8,700 in April to help fund the newest addition to the Wounded Warrior Homes network, the Harvest Home project. A premier personal finance and consumer banking website, GOBankingRates frequently highlights the extraordinary efforts of financial institutions that go above and beyond to support the particular needs of their communities.
Wounded Warrior Homes is an organization that provides transitional housing to military members with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.
PMCU employees and members contributed to the cause by donating money throughout the credit union's twelve branches. The month-long fundraising campaign was not the first time the institution supported WWH; PMCU gave $7,100 to the organization in May 2013.
"A donation of $8,700 by a community credit union like Pacific Marine CU is substantial and quite generous. This money will go a long way in supporting the PMCU community and members," said GOBankingRates managing editor, Casey Bond.
"We are proud supporters of not only our military heroes, but also our local community," said Nancy Harvey, Community Relations Officer at PMCU. "Throughout May, PMCU has partnered with Credit Unions for Kids and the Children's Miracle Network to raise money for Rady's Children's Hospital in San Diego. You can visit any of our 12 branches and make a donation in May. This is our 8th year sponsoring the event."
