Gold Bennett Cera & Sidener LLP Announces Class Action Lawsuit Against Aspeon, Inc. and Two of Its Officers and Directors

    SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Gold Bennett Cera & Sidener LLP
 announced today that it had filed a class action in the United States District
 Court for the Central District of California on behalf of purchasers of
 Aspeon, Inc. ("Aspeon") (Nasdaq:   ASPE; ASPEE) common stock during the period
 between October 28, 1999 and September 28, 2000 (the "Class Period"),
 Case Number SA-CV-00-1014-DOC(EEx).  The complaint charges Aspeon, its
 President, Chairman and CEO Richard P. Stack and its CFO Horace M. Hertz with
 violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.  Plaintiff seeks to recover
 damages on behalf of all purchasers of Aspeon common stock during the Class

 quarter 2000 financial statements as a result of accounting misstatements.  On
 October 10, 2000, Aspeon announced that it would require additional time to
 file its Form 10-K report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2000, and would
 not meet its previously announced October 13, 2000 filing date.  The Company
 did not specify a new target filing date.  Upon these disclosures, the
 Nasdaq Stock Market halted trading in Aspeon pending "additional information
 requested" from the Company.  The last trade was at $1.50 per share -- a
 decline of 95% from its Class Period high of $30.00 per share.
