Gold Star Resources Corp. Announces 'Onshore' Oil Land Strategy in West Africa

Canadian Oil Firm Is A "Stepping Stone Into Africa" for Investors, Says CEO To Wall Street Transcript

VANCOUVER, June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Patrick Morris, CEO of Gold Star Resources Corp. (TSX-V; GXX; OTC Bulletin Board: GXXFF; www.goldstarresources.com) sees his Canadian-based oil and gas exploration company as a "stepping stone into Africa" for investors. Morris made that statement in a news interview today with The Wall Street Transcript, a New York City financial news weekly (www.twst.com). Gold Star Resources has emerged onto the West Africa scene seeking "onshore" acreage in Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana. The firm recently announced the acquisition of International Resource Strategies Liberia Energy Inc. (IRSLE) earlier this month.

According to Morris, Gold Star Resources' plan is "to put together a portfolio of blocks of land that are 'onshore,' bordering major discoveries, by large oil and gas companies. Given the current political stability in Liberia, the government is now marketing itself to the world. Because no one has gone onshore in the last 30 years, we believe that our risk is minimized." Morris also pointed out that with Addax Petroleum, Heritage Oil and Tullow all in discussion as potential take out targets, this "will create a huge void in the market place for a company such as Gold Star."

"In a way we are starting a trend," stated Morris in the Transcript news interview. Gold Star Resources "is the first junior exploration company onshore" in Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana. "Given that no onshore exploration has taken place over the last 30 years, this makes us a bit of a trendsetter. We are front-running the whole entire onshore exploration and we hope that the major oil companies will see what we are doing and join us."
