Golden Gate University School of Law Appoints New Experiential Learning Faculty

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Golden Gate University School of Law (GGU Law) announced today that it has made new appointments to its nationally recognized experiential learning programs.  Taking over as director of externships is Adjunct Professor Brittany Glidden. Nina Robertson begins as a clinical staff attorney at the Environmental Law and Justice Clinic for the 2015/2016 academic year, and Stephen Rosenbaum was named associate professor and clinical staff attorney for the Women's Employment Rights Clinic.

GGU Law, founded in 1901, is the only law school in Northern California to earn an A+ rating from the National Jurist for its practical skills training programs, has a long history of educating practice-ready attorneys in the San Francisco, Bay Area.  In an effort to continually improve its programs, GGU Law has hired and appointed new experiential learning faculty.

Brittany Glidden, an adjunct professor of law at GGU Law, has been appointed director of externships.  Professor Glidden earned her BA from Stanford University and her JD from New York University School of Law, where she was the executive editor of the Review of Law & Social Change.  Professor Glidden has previously worked as a staff attorney at the Prison Law Office, as a contract attorney at Lieff, Cabraser, Heimann, and Bernstein, LLP, as a visiting assistant professor at Sturm College of Law, and most recently as a visiting assistant professor at GGU Law's Women's Employment Rights Clinic.  In her new role as director of externships, Professor Glidden will "bring her experience in each sector of the legal market and in legal education to guide students as they transition to becoming attorneys by acquiring hands-on training in a myriad of placements in the San Francisco Bay Area," said Rachel Van Cleave, dean of GGU Law.

Nina Robertson begins work as a staff attorney at GGU Law's lauded Environmental Law and Justice Clinic for the 2015/2016 academic year.  Robertson earned her BS from Stanford University, her MPA from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and her JD from Stanford University Law School, where she was the executive editor of the Stanford Environmental Law Journal.  Before coming to GGU Law, she was a fellow at the Environmental Law Institute, a law clerk to the Honorable Henry H. Kennedy on the US District Court, and an attorney at the US Department of Justice's Environmental and Natural Resources Division. 

Stephen Rosenbaum, GGU Law's newest associate professor, will work as a clinical staff attorney for the Women's Employment Rights Clinic.  Professor Rosenbaum earned his BA from the University of Michigan, his MPP from UC Berkeley, and his JD from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he received the Eleanor Swift Award for Public Service.  Professor Rosenbaum has previously lectured at the University of Washington School of Law, at Stanford Law, and at Berkeley Law. He has done extensive work with indigent populations, including service as a legal education advisor for the ABA Rule of Law Initiative, as a staff attorney for the Law Offices of California Rural Legal Assistance, the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation, and the Centro Legal Campesino, a legal aid department in Western Oklahoma.  He has also practiced law as a disability rights attorney for the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund, Disability Rights of California, and most recently as counsel at the Law Offices of Michael S. Sorgen.
