Good Technology Strengthens the Ability for Organizations to Secure Data, Voice and Texts on Mobile Devices

New enhancements build on leading security capabilities in Good Work, recognized in Gartner Critical Capabilities in High-Security Mobility Management report

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Technology™, the leader in secure mobility, today announced new security capabilities for Good Work™ that further protect corporate data. The market-leading business-class email and collaboration app can now be extended with secure voice and SMS communications, configured with more granular data loss prevention policies, and enabled to support Email Classification and Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) for enterprises that require classification and digital signing and encryption of messages.

Organizations are faced with the challenge of securing enterprise data while enabling their employees to be more productive when mobile. For many industries, all communications are required to be secured and discoverable for regulatory purposes and voice and text communications often go overlooked. Other organizations have further requirements on message encryption and signing, while many are also looking to move beyond "all or nothing" data loss prevention policies like copy/paste restriction to support evolving mobile use cases. The new capabilities in Good Work enhance user productivity and provide IT with more flexibility to secure and manage access to sensitive messaging, voice and SMS communications.

"The need to ensure that corporate data is secure from threats, whether external or internal, is critical in every enterprise," said Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO at Good Technology. "Offering an amazing user experience while providing the highest level of mobile security has been our focus for over a decade. Good Work enables users to be their most productive while keeping their data safe in the world's most demanding environments."

Good Work now integrates CellTrust SecureLine™, enabling a secure mobile business number on bring-your-own-devices (BYOD), to keep personal and business communications separate on a single device. The integrated solution encrypts and secures business calls and SMS messages on the device without using the personal number. This capability is vital for regulated industries such as financial services, legal, healthcare and government agencies that require greater security for business communications, as well as archiving for eDiscovery and other supervision and compliance needs. Furthermore, business phone usage does not impact personal voice plans, allowing users to keep their personal usage untouched and removing the need for mobile device reimbursements.

Good Technology is also delivering more granular and rich policy controls on how data is captured by Good Work and any of more than 2,000 Good-secured apps currently in use by customers today. These enhancements include more fine grained policies governing copy-and-paste of information between Good-secured and non-secured business or personal apps and cloud services that enable IT to support multiple enterprise use cases. In addition, new data capture restrictions have been added including screen snapshots, dictation, custom keyboards and more. By applying these restrictions just to the Good-secured apps, IT does not have to restrict these capabilities across all apps using MDM restrictions on BYO and COPE devices, which can heavily impact the user experience on a personally owned device.

Good Work also now supports email classification and S/MIME for digital signing and encryption of messages. Organizations and industries requiring S/MIME now have a next-generation alternative for other S/MIME email solutions that meets regulatory requirements, bringing with it all other security and collaboration benefits of Good Work.

Gartner recognized best-of-breed security solutions from Good Technology in its 2015 Critical Capabilities for High-Security Mobility Management report1. Good achieved the highest product score in all six use cases, including the very common BYO use case. The other use cases include Shared Devices, Nonemployee, High-Security Commercial, High-Security Government Grade, and Shared Data. The report evaluation is based on Good Work, the company's market-leading business-class email and collaboration app.
