Goodie Two Shoes® Foundation Names 6pm.com "Patron of the Year" Foundation recognizes online retailer for charitable donations at sixth annual gala
LAS VEGAS, May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- 6pm.com, a leading online retailer in women's, men's and children's shoes, clothing and accessories, was recognized on May 17, 2014, as the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation's (GTSF) "Patron of the Year" at their sixth annual Heart n' Sole gala in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"Every year we recognize an organization or individual that has shown immense love and dedication to GTSF – this year it was clear we wanted to honor 6pm.com," said Nikki Berti, president, chief executive officer and co-founder of GTSF. "We enjoyed working side by side with the 6pm.com team. Their expertise in fulfillment and operations helped us take a quantum leap in our services and programming while their generous shoe donations helped us exceed our goal of providing shoes to 10,000 area children this year. The impact this relationship can have on the health and positive development of Nevada youth is immeasurable."
GTSF has supplied shoes to more than 10,000 disadvantaged children in southern Nevada each year for the past three years. In 2013, 6pm.com contributed almost 16,000 pairs of shoes that were distributed to at-risk Nevada youth, ages 5 to 17, via the GTSF mobile shoe unit and 25 coordinated, large-scale distribution events held at Las Vegas area Title 1 schools. A team of 6pm.com employees volunteered more than 1,200 hours coordinating shoe donations, assisting at shoe distributions and working at GTSF headquarters to implement new programs that streamlined the inventory system and increased efficiency.
"At 6pm.com, giving back to our communities is part of how we do business. We were moved by the mission of the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation and are honored to be recognized as their Patron of the Year," said Graham McCulloch, director of 6pm.com. "For these kids, it isn't just another pair of shoes. It is about the experience – attending the shoe distribution and having the opportunity to pick out that perfect pair, just like the ones their friends at school are wearing. This may be the first time in their lives these kids get to shop for themselves – and the way their faces light up is what makes this a truly memorable volunteer experience for every one of our employees."
6pm.com and GTSF will continue to provide school-aged children with shoes, socks and other essential items to live a healthy lifestyle in 2014. For more information on the partnership visit https://www.facebook.com/shop6pm or http://www.goodietwoshoes.org/.

About the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation
The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation provides disadvantaged children and children in crisis with new shoes and socks, as well as other items deemed essential for good health and positive development. Goodie Two Shoes programming is based on the premise that they don't just provide a child with a new pair of shoes but rather empower participants with choice, by giving them the opportunity to select any pair of high-quality athletic shoes they want from GTSF's traveling 48-foot mobile shoe-store-on-wheels, which visits children on-site at their school or referring agency. Each participant is measured to ensure proper fit and paired one-on-one with a community volunteer whom takes a special interest and walks them through the process. GTSF strives to reach 10,000 southern Nevada children in need, annually.
