PARIS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Fuel and Utility Systems has been
recognized by airplane manufacturer Airbus as a top-10 supplier in the
company's annual rankings. Airbus recognized its top ten systems suppliers
during ceremonies at the Paris Air Show today. Goodrich Fuel and Utility
Systems, a division of Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR), was one of four U.S.-
based companies recognized by airlines for their product quality and support.
More than 600 employees work in the division's Vergennes, Vt., facility,
with another 200 based in Rome, N.Y. The division produces aircraft fuel
systems for many Airbus aircraft types, including the A200, A310, A318, A319,
A320, A321 and the A340. Goodrich will also produce systems for the A380, the
flagship of the 21st century.
Goodrich's Cindy Egnotovich, Electronic Systems president of the Fuel and
Utility Systems division, accepted the award in Paris.
"We are honored for the second year in a row to land at the top of Airbus'
global supplier list," said Egnotovich. "Being recognized in Airbus' top 10
means that we have been very responsive not only to Airbus' needs, but also
the needs of airline customers. We are pleased once again to be named in the
top 10, as it supports our goal of being number one in customer satisfaction,"
Airbus analyzes customer feedback and supplier performance reports to
develop the annual ranking. Supplier performance is measured by Airbus and its
customer airlines, and results are defined by product and service performance,
as well as cost management. This year, 40 suppliers were rated, and more than
80 airlines worldwide participated in the survey.
"Goodrich Fuel and Utility Systems provides excellent customer support,
and is consistently ranked as a top 10 Airbus supplier," said Allan McArtor,
Chairman-Airbus North America. "Since 2000, they have been a top 10 supplier,
and we appreciate their focus on customer service."
Each new Airbus order means new business for American companies. In 2004
alone, Airbus spent nearly $7 billion with suppliers in more than 40 U.S.
states. Using a U.S. Department of Commerce model, that dollar amount
translates into Airbus support of more than 140,000 American jobs.
