GOSO Secures High Value Mobile Short Code 'DEALER' (332537)

 

WASHINGTON, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Short codes are becoming ever popular in the marketing world as they allow consumers to engage in two-way communication with retailers from their mobile device via SMS and MMS messages. Dealers are presented with many opportunities with short codes, in both fixed and variable operations. In an effort to bridge the gap between social media and mobile, GOSO has procured the high value short code "dealer"(332537) which will help dealers capitalize on this new mobile technology.

Vanity short codes are designed to be easier for consumers to remember than telephone numbers. So, for instance, the dealership Potomac Autos could reserve the word "Potomac." In other marketing materials Potomac Autos would say, text "Potomac" to DEALER for more information. An automated message would be sent to the consumer beginning a conversation by asking, "What are you interested in, reply either 'sales' or 'service.'" If the consumer replies "sales," the dealership could respond by asking what type of vehicle they are interested in. If the consumer replied "service," the dealership could respond by sending service specials for that month.

A social interaction occurs between dealer and consumer with the use of short codes. GOSO plans on taking this interaction to the next level by integrating social media with mobile. GOSO is planning on launching the program later this summer as part of their social media suite.

Dealerships can inquire about reserving their keywords with GOSO. GOSO is now accepting reservations on names excluding brand names, which will be reserved for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) for value-added services such as rebates and specials.
