Governor Rendell Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of DEA Special Agent Chad Michael
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G. Rendell has ordered all United States and Pennsylvania flags on state facilities to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, Nov. 5, to honor the memory of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Chad L. Michael, who was killed in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan.
"On behalf of all Pennsylvanians, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Special Agent Michael," Governor Rendell said. "In his honor, we will lower United States and state flags to demonstrate our respect for his service to our nation, his loyalty and bravery, and his sacrifice."
Special Agent Michael, 30, of Dallas, Luzerne County, died Monday, Oct. 26, as a result of injuries he sustained from a helicopter crash while on assignment in Afghanistan. A native of Lycoming County, he was born Feb. 22, 1979, in Muncy and was a 1997 graduate of Hughesville High School.
