Grupo Aeromexico Reports Eleven Percent Year-on-Year Increase in February Passenger Numbers

MEXICO CITY, March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. ("Aeromexico") (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for February, 2012.

In February, Grupo Aeromexico transported one million ninety seven thousand passengers, an 11% year-on-year increase compared to February 2011, resulting from a 15% increase in international passenger traffic and a 10% increase in domestic passenger traffic. During the first two months of the year, the number of passengers reached two million three hundred thousand; 11% more than in the same months in 2011, with a 19% increase in international passenger traffic and an 8% increase in domestic passenger traffic.

Grupo Aeromexico's capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 7% year-on-year in February, and demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), grew 10%. As a result, the load factor for the month increased 1.7 percentage points, to reach a total of 75.6%.

In the first two months of the year, ASKs increased 7% and the RPKs increased 11%. Therefore, the load factor increased 1.9 percentage points reaching 76.4%.

According to the latest report published by the DGAC (Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil – Mexico's National Aviation Authority), in January, Grupo Aeromexico controlled 40% of the domestic market and 14% of the international market for 2011; confirming Grupo Aeromexico's leadership position within both markets. Overall market share increased two points year over year.
