ST. LOUIS, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Merit Industries, a subsidiary of Harbour Group, has acquired Games Warehouse, a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of coin-operated, video-based entertainment systems, Sam Fox, Harbour Group's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, announced today. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition, which is based in Nottingham, England, will complement Harbour Group's other entertainment products companies, including Merit Industries and Rowe International. Mr. Fox commented, "Games Warehouse is an outstanding developer and a market leader. The team has built this business into the leading developer of multi-game, skill-with-prize games in the United Kingdom by focusing on superior content development and customer service. The acquisition of Games Warehouse further demonstrates Harbour Group's commitment to the coin-operated entertainment industry. This industry remains fragmented, with many companies serving niche segments of the industry, and we will continue to aggressively grow our business through complementary acquisitions as we seek to build greater capabilities for our customers." Dave Logan, President of Merit, commented, "We are very excited to have Games Warehouse as part of the expanding Merit family. Games Warehouse is a market leader and an outstanding game developer. We believe there are significant opportunities to combine technology and content to bring exciting new entertainment value to the market." "We've worked hard to build the company into a premier provider of gaming content," said Keith Healey, Games Warehouse's Chairman. "Harbour Group and Merit recognized the value we've built by focusing on developing the highest quality gaming experiences for our customers. We look forward to the many opportunities this new relationship creates to further accelerate our already rapid growth." Harbour Group is a privately owned company based in St. Louis, Mo.
