Health Canada - Note to Editors
OTTAWA, Oct. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Health Canada today released the October
2012 issue of the Canadian Adverse Reaction Newsletter (CARN).
This issue includes an article on the limitations with Lyme disease test
kits and a reminder to health professionals of the importance of
clinical diagnosis and early treatment. The article also encourages
reporting of incidents with test kits, including false negative and
false positive results.
This edition also includes an article highlighting the continued risks
of liver damage associated with antiandrogens used mainly in the
treatment of prostate cancer, and a case presentation on an adverse
reaction to thalomid treatment.
