MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In conjunction with National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, this October, HeartSine Technologies Inc. and Your Safety Company have announced plans to make a donation to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation for every HeartSine® samaritan® PAD automated external defibrillator (AED) purchased through the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation before December 31, 2009.

HeartSine and Your Safety Company are, respectively, a leading manufacturer and distributor of AEDs. Their donations will assist the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation in its mission "to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and give 'ordinary' people the power to save a life."

Although the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation does not endorse specific resuscitation products, the Foundation's president Mary Newman appreciates the support HeartSine and Your Safety Company are providing to her organization's efforts. "One American dies approximately every two minutes from sudden cardiac arrest and as many as 30 to 50 percent of SCA victims could survive if CPR and AEDs were used within five minutes of collapse," she says. "Used together, these tools can mean the difference between life and death."
