Hill & Knowlton Strengthens Energy Practice With Senior Hire
Former Bloomberg Bureau Chief Kimberly Jordan Named VP
HOUSTON, Jan. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill & Knowlton announced today that Kimberly Jordan, a veteran energy journalist and former bureau chief for one of the world's largest and most influential news services, Bloomberg News, has been named vice president of the company's energy practice.
Jordan is based in H&K Houston where she provides strategic counsel and direction. She reports to Elizabeth Northrup, senior vice president of public affairs in the Washington, DC office.
Hill & Knowlton's energy practice helps organizations navigate through the many challenges of the energy sector, whether they are environmental, financial, economic or political. With expertise in forging impactful relationships and a thorough knowledge of the unique issues in the sector, the team helps clients gain a foothold on the world stage to play important educational and leadership roles.
"I am delighted that my energy knowledge and journalism background can provide clients with valuable insights that will keep them informed and prepared regarding policy decisions and industry shifts," said Jordan.
With more than a decade of experience covering energy for Bloomberg News as part of her 17-year career as a journalist, Jordan has a keen understanding of business news and the energy arena in particular. While serving as bureau chief of the Houston office, she coordinated interviews with leaders from companies such as ConocoPhillips and NextEra Energy and was responsible for Gulf Coast coverage. As an editor on the North American energy team, she assigned and edited stories about US, Canadian and Latin American energy companies.
"Kim's deep knowledge in the energy space and journalism is a tremendous asset for clients that need to translate their own complex technical and financial story into compelling narratives that impact policies and markets," said Northrup. "Kim has the ability to 'connect the dots' – unearthing the untold stories and spotting the trends our clients need to know about. We are proud to have her as part of the H&K team."
Jordan is a member of the Women's Energy Network, the Houston Strategic Forum, the Center for Houston's Future and the Greater Houston Partnership's Emerging Women Leaders group.
