Himfr pointed out that the global smartphone shipment volume is expected to grow by 184 million units in 2009 and 235 million units in 2010, a growth of up to 27 percent. The analyst estimates that in 2010, China's smartphone shipment volume will be larger than in 2009 at 212 million units, a growth of 42 percent, which make China the fastest-growing country. In the next few years, China's smartphone shipment volume will grow much faster than any other country's.

The analyst has said that the smartphone market has grown from the past initial period of time and entered a new stage. This presents enormous opportunities for development for equipment manufacturers, service providers, semiconductor suppliers, platform supplier industries and other such key vendors.
