Hitachi and Scottish Equitable Back Northern Trust Global Investments UK Equity Plus Fund

    LONDON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northern Trust Global
 Investments ("NTGI") has officially launched the Northern Trust manager of
 managers UK Equity Plus fund ("the Fund"), with 37.1 million pounds sterling
 seeding from Scottish Equitable and the Hitachi UK Pension Scheme.
     The Fund is Dublin based and aims to outperform the FTSE All Share by 2.5%
 per annum.  Specialist UK equity manager Majedie Asset Management will run the
 growth-focused segment of the fund, while Mirabaud has been appointed to run
 the flexible, value-oriented portion of the fund.
     John Greene, Head of Manager Research within NTGI's European Manager of
 Managers business, commented:  "It is a powerful endorsement to have secured
 funding from two such institutional investors."
