PLEASANTON, Calif. and RICHARDSON, Texas, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Hitachi High Technologies America (HTA) and Zyvex Corporation today announced an agreement to refer microsystems customers for worldwide sales channels. Under this agreement, Hitachi High Technologies America will refer appropriate customers interested in integrated circuit probing in the semiconductor industry to utilize the Zyvex nanoprober/manipulation products in conjunction with Hitachi's Scanning Electron Microscopes. "Hitachi is a worldwide leader of semiconductor manufacturing equipment," said Thomas A. Cellucci, PhD, MBA, Zyvex's President. "Now that Hitachi is referring their microsystems customers to our Nanomanipulator and Prober products, both customer bases will have a far more effective solution than they've ever had before. I'm excited about the prospects for more collaborations in the future." The agreement will help make it significantly easier for the companies to refer customers and achieve immediate impact and maximum return on investment. The agreement was finalized at the Microscopy and Microanalysis Conference in Savannah, Georgia. "We're impressed with the innovation inherent in the Zyvex Nanoprober," said Robert Gordon, HTA Vice President and General Manager. "The Zyvex nanoprober/manipulation products, in combination with our Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopes, provide a powerful solution to newly developing challenges in the semiconductor industry." Applications notes that focus on real-world applications using the two systems are already being developed. The need to probe sub-100 nanometer features is relatively new to the semiconductor industry. Zyvex's NanoWorks(TM) Products fulfill that need with nanomanipulation and probing systems that are compatible with scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), focused ion beam systems (FIBS), confocal microscopes, probe stations, and standard upright and inverted optical microscopes.
