3. Electrical issues
You normally think of electrical problems popping up in older houses (where the wiring is old, but the appliances and light fixtures aren't). However, electrical issues can pop up anywhere, in any house. A good inspector will take an extra-long look at the electrical outlets in your bathrooms and kitchen. Since those are the outlets that are closest to water, you're required to have ground fault circuit interrupters on them. If you don't (or if they don't work properly), your home may not pass inspection!

You may think of drainage problems as a minor inconvenience. However, if water sits around long enough, it can damage your foundation – meaning the entire structural integrity of your home can be at stake!
