HP Hood and Boston Red Sox Make Sundays All About Kids With New 'Sundays at Fenway' Program
Red Sox and presenting sponsor of Conigliaro's Corner offer Sunday tickets
to children's hospitals, Red Sox Kid Nation.
CHELSEA, Mass., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HP Hood, New England's
leading dairy company, is teaming up with the Boston Red Sox to give kids
and families throughout the region a big league opportunity with "Sundays
at Fenway."
As presenting sponsor of the new Conigliaro's Corner seating area in
Fenway Park, Hood will donate 20 seats to one of the 13 children's
hospitals supported by The Hood Home Team Advantage Program(TM) for each
Sunday home game of the 2007 regular season. Hood made the remaining 200
Sunday game seats in Conigliaro's Corner available for purchase exclusively
to members of Red Sox Kid Nation.
"Hood has a long-standing relationship with the Boston Red Sox, and we
are excited to sponsor Conigliaro's Corner, which provides more affordable
opportunities for families to enjoy their hometown team together," said
Lynne Bohan, spokesperson for Hood. "We're especially glad to make 'Sundays
at Fenway' just for kids by offering these seats to children's hospitals
and Red Sox Kid Nation members."
The Hood Home Team Advantage Program is a charitable partnership with
the Red Sox that has raised more than $500,000 for 13 children's hospitals
throughout New England since 2001. As with the donations from the Hood Home
Team Advantage Program, the hospitals will benefit from the tickets at
their discretion, such as by offering the seats to children and families
being treated at their facilities, or by auctioning them to raise funds for
programs.
"Thanks to Hood, we were able to send several of our patients and their
families to watch the Red Sox defeat the New York Yankees at Fenway," said
Kathy Golden, public relations director for Shriners Hospitals for Children
in Boston. "When our staff called each patient's home to offer tickets to
the game, there was so much excitement on the other end of the line. We are
very thankful for Hood's generous donation. The patients and their families
had a wonderful time."
With more than 10,000 members, Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood is
the first-ever Red Sox fan club designed for children 14 and younger.
Memberships for 2007 can be obtained by filling out an application online
at redsox.com/kidnation, by calling (888) REDSOX6, or by visiting Kid
Nation headquarters on Fenway Park's Big Concourse.
As New England's leading dairy manufacturer of nutritious beverages and
food products, Hood is committed to helping families and communities
throughout the region. Hood first partnered with the Boston Red Sox in 2001
to form The Hood Home Team Advantage Program. In 2004, Hood and the Red Sox
introduced Red Sox Kid Nation, which benefits The Home Team Advantage
Program. And in 2006, Hood launched Sox Tops for Kids, a program that
allows schools throughout New England to earn money by collecting the caps
from Hood Milk in the LightBlock Bottle(R).
