HP Hood Kicks Off Third Annual Holiday Recipe Contest
Grand prize winner to receive a weekend getaway for four at one of New
England's top resorts
LYNNFIELD, Mass., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all cooks: If you have
a recipe that you think is worthy of merit, grab your mixing bowls and get
baking. HP Hood, New England's leading dairy company, announced today that
it is accepting entries for the Third Annual Hood Holiday Recipe Contest.
Do you have what it takes? Enter to find out.
It's simple: Interested participants can submit their favorite original
recipes online at Hood.com. The only requirement is that each recipe MUST
include one or more of the following Hood Holiday products: Hood EggNog
(all varieties), Sour Cream, Cottage Cheese, Cream, Simply Smart Half(R) &
Half, Instant Whipped Cream (must be used in conjunction with another
product) or Country Creamer. All recipes-sweet or savory; dessert,
breakfast or dinner- will be accepted as long as they contain at least one
of the above-mentioned products.
The recipe entries will be tested, sampled and judged under the
supervision of the culinary staff of the Trapp Family Lodge, in Stowe,
Vermont. A winner will be determined based on the following criteria:
taste, originality, clarity of recipe instructions and ease of preparation.
In the case of a tie, the recipe with the highest score for taste will
prevail.
One grand prize winner will receive a two-night, three-day vacation
package for four at the Trapp Family Lodge. The package includes
accommodations in a lodge suite, breakfast and dinner for four,
cross-country and downhill ski passes, and a one-hour massage for two. Five
honorable- mention winners will each receive a $200 gift card.
"Each year we are eager to hear from our customers about the new ways
they've found to use Hood products in preparing their favorite holiday
recipes. We are once again excited to be able to thank our loyal New
England customers for making us part of their holiday celebrations as well
as their everyday lives," said Lynne Bohan, vice president of public
relations for HP Hood. "Our entry numbers have been on the rise since we
introduced the contest in 2005. That means more unique ways to use Hood
products in the kitchen."
The contest is open to U.S. residents of Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, and will
run through January 15, 2008. For more information about the contest and to

Last year's grand-prize winning entry, EggNog & Pecan Torte, submitted
by Robin Trecartin of Milford, New Hampshire, calls for Hood EggNog and
Hood Cream. It is available online at Hood.com.
