Hyperdynamics Announces 2007 Annual Shareholder Meeting

    HOUSTON, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hyperdynamics (Amex:   HDY)
 today announced that its board of directors has set its annual shareholder
 meeting for Tuesday, March 6, 2007. The meeting will be for shareholders of
 record as of January 12, 2007, and will be held in Sugar Land, Texas.
 Details of the matters of business and the location and time of the meeting
 will be disclosed in the proxy statement to be filed in the near future.
     "Looking back at 2006, we had an extremely productive year," said Kent
 Watts, Hyperdynamics' chief executive officer. "The new production-sharing
 contract we signed in September with the Republic of Guinea cleared the way
 for us to advance our exploration work in West Africa. Working with
 GlobalSanteFe's Applied Drilling Technologies, we are working out all the
 logistics required to support offshore drilling operations, and we are
 continuing to internally evaluate the five largest drilling prospects that
 we have identified so far in our vast 31,000-plus-square-mile offshore
 license area. At the same time we will be rolling out our data study group
 beginning in January and seeking exploration partners to join our efforts,
 giving us more bandwidth to cover more area faster in our endeavor to make
 a major discovery offshore Guinea.

 needs of the people there and established American Friends of Guinea, or
 AFG. AFG was chartered in March and approved by the IRS in August as a
 tax-deductible charitable organization. American Friends of Guinea is now
 prepared to accept tax-deductible stock and cash donations. I hope that all
 our shareholders will consider giving to this worthy cause," added Watts.
     AFG was established to provide medical aid and infrastructure through
 qualified projects and initiatives in the Republic of Guinea. The goal is
