"LUX v2.5 represents our two primary design goals: make LUX the most powerful sense-making solution in the market, and the easiest to use," Waldrop said. "We are well on our way to processing and analyzing 1 million events per second. Users and analysts will be excited about the entity identification manager. And LUX Live is a vivid example of the platform's responsiveness to dynamically changing events."
ICG plans to release LUX v3.0 in Spring 2017, Waldrop said. "Our v3.0 platform will be a game changer, uniquely enabling our government and commercial customers to exploit any format, volume, and speed of data," he said.
LUX v2.5 features the real-time entity identification manager. It captures and preserves three core elements across multiple sources of data flowing simultaneously through the LUX pipeline:
- Entities (e.g., people, places, things)
- Relationships (e.g., connections to other entities)
- Attributes (e.g., time and geospatial data)
LUX v2.5 writes this information to a graph database where it is retained and enhanced over time. The entity identification manager automatically detects entities in streams of data. (It works the same way on historical repositories of stored data.) Users can add and update ERA information manually from within the LUX user interface and use it to compose smarter rules. These features transform LUX into a one-of-a-kind "entity-centric" plus "rules-centric" solution.
