SAN FRANCISCO, May 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Identified.com, the fastest growing career site for young professionals, today announced that it has reached 10 million registered users just 8 months after launch. The company is relocating its headquarters to San Francisco's China Basin, home to up-and-coming tech start-ups, to accommodate the expansion of its workforce, which now totals more than 50 employees.
"We are thrilled to be expanding our team to focus on building a product that empowers young professionals in their careers in a way that has never been possible before," said Brendan Wallace, co-founder and co-CEO of Identified. "We're also excited to stay in San Francisco, where we can work in a collegial technology ecosystem."
Identified expands from 5,000 to 17,000 square feet in its new office space. During the last year, the company has attracted some of Silicon Valley's brightest engineers, product managers and data scientists, coming from top companies like Zynga, Facebook, LinkedIn and Salesforce.com. The company expects to grow to more than 75 employees by the end of June, a key element to rolling out upcoming features and products for both individuals and companies.
"Tech companies like Identified are continuing to start here, stay here and grow here in San Francisco and are adding to the growth of jobs within the 'Innovation Capital of the World,'" said San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. "It is great to see companies like Identified use innovation to leverage the success of Facebook and harness the talent of the Bay Area for their continued success."
Identified is popular with young workers and students entering the job market who want to use their Facebook friend networks but also keep a division between their professional and social lives. People import their Facebook network and information to Identified.com, adding basic professional information so they have an active, up-to-date professional profile available to employers on a separate site. While LinkedIn has established itself as the professional network for experienced white collar workers, Identified has achieved mass adoption among younger, less experienced workers seeking internships, service jobs, and entry-level positions. Today, Identified's userbase is 90% under the age of 29.
Identified also pioneered the Identified Score, a gamification technique which encourages people to input information that recruiters seek in job candidates such as college major, job title and years of work experience. As people add information and progress in their careers, they gain points to increase their Identified Score. The points represent the value of key information currently in demand by employers that helps young students and professionals plan their careers.
