Infiniti Reports U.S. Sales For February

FRANKLIN, Tenn., March 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Infiniti today reported U.S. sales of 9,147 units for February, a decrease of one percent versus 9,239 units a year earlier. Calendar year-to-date sales for Infiniti are 16,273, up 1.5 percent from 16,035 units in 2012.

Infiniti retailers reported continued strong sales of the company's all-new JX 7-passenger luxury crossover at 2,300 units, while the QX full-size luxury SUV had sales of 1,059, allowing the brand's crossovers and sport utility vehicles to be up almost 59 percent for the month.

"February is traditionally a transition month between winter and strong spring sales, but Infiniti's corporate partnership of NCAA Men's Basketball helped us continue the successful launch of the Infiniti JX," said Ben Poore , vice president, Infiniti Americas. "This vehicle is fulfilling its goal of bringing new buyers into our showroom, and has become our second most popular Infiniti product."

As a corporate sponsor of NCAA® Men's Basketball, Infiniti began its third annual Coaches' Charity Challenge last month. Through this program, Infiniti will donate $5,000 to each of the 48 participating coaches' designated charities, for a total of $335,000. Then the coach with the most fan votes in the final round will receive $100,000 for his designated charity. Infiniti is promoting its G Sedan and JX during regular season NCAA Men's Basketball throughout March, and through the Final Four®.

Also in March, Infiniti will debut the European version of its all-new Q50 luxury sports sedan at the Geneva Motor Show, and will feature the Q50 at the Amelia Island Concours, its first showing outside of an auto show in the Americas. The Infiniti Q50 will go on sale early this summer.
