Infoway Challenges Highlight Digital Health's Impact on Patients, Careers, Companies
TORONTO, June 19, 2013 /CNW/ - A new series of Infoway Challenges will focus on the impact digital health investments have been making in Canada and aim to accelerate these benefits, announced Richard Alvarez, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway.
The new series of Challenges are aimed at patients like Della, health and IT workers and businesses - all who are being asked to share the impact of digital health on their well-being, lives and careers.
Participants can visit www.imaginenationchallenge.ca to submit brief stories outlining their experiences. More Impact Challenges will be announced in the coming weeks.
"Challenges like these serve as catalysts for innovation, and help shine a spotlight on the value health IT generates for the health care system and for patients, bringing those stories to life," said Alvarez. "In addition, investment in digital health creates jobs and stimulates the economy."
The new series of Impact Challenges follow the successful Infoway Ideas and Outcomes Challenges.
Geoff Spooner, whose team of 14 clinics in Vancouver was awarded first place in the e-Scheduling category of the Outcomes Challenge, encourages Canadians to submit their entries to the Impact Challenge.
"Participating in Infoway's Challenges is a great way to have a dialogue about the role of health IT in moving Canada's health care system into the 21st century," said Spooner. "Virtually everyone is touched by our health care system, and it's important to hear from Canadians of all walks of life who have felt the impact of health IT as we and our clients have. Whether you're a patient, a clinician or you're representing a company, I encourage you to contribute to the dialogue by joining the Challenge."
