Ingram Park CDJ Likes Direction Of Standardized Charging Technology

SAN ANTONIO, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ingram Park CDJ, a Chrysler dealership in San Antonio, is excited that Chrysler is taking the next step forward in alternative/green energies as they have joined seven other automotive companies from across the globe to develop standardized charging technology.

Chrysler Group already has several makes and models that flourish with respect to fuel efficiency but this is a necessary next step. Chrysler joined the likes of Audi, BMW, Daimler, Ford, General Motors, Porsche and Volkswagen as they all recently participated in a charging display/demo of their new standardized single-port DC-fast charging technology. This took place at the Electric Vehicle Symposium 26(EVS26) which kicked off on May 6^th and will run through the 9^th of May.

The new charging system is a big deal, as it not only will allow for safe and efficient charging, quick as 15-20 minutes, but is believed to offer a more affordable means of adoption for standardized EV charging infrastructure across the globe.

These new charging stations are slated to be released at some point later this year, with a more rapid release occurring in 2013. All of the OEMs that are committed to this project are currently in the works of developing EVs that will be outfitted with the standardized single-port fast charging technology.
