INKforce(TM) Software Now on the Job With Prince George County, Virginia

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting this week Prince George County will begin implementing the second of four software modules providing county inspectors with web-based systems to schedule, track and monitor the life cycle of all permitting and inspections directly from the field.

With a Code Enforcement Tracking (CET) module already up and working for the past month, the county this week is adding Building and Permitting Tracking (BPT) with modules for Planning and Zoning Tracking (PNZ) and Fire Inspection Tracking (FIT) to be added by the end of the year.

Last year the county contracted with INKforce(TM), www.inkforce.net, a national developer of government automation tools, to provide web-based software systems providing the user with the ability to schedule, track and monitor the life cycle of all permitting and inspections directly from the field using a Panasonic Toughbook, wireless connection and web browser. The Prince County suite of INKForce(TM) services will also add a new interactive voice recognition module that allows people to order county services directly over the phone.

Hector Perez, Director of INKforce(TM) Software Solutions with South Florida-based Calvin, Giordano & Associates, said INKforce (TM), which is being used by municipalities and county agencies around the country, is proven to increase productivity, efficiency and collaboration with other departments.

For example, an internal analysis by Miami-Dade County, where code enforcement officers have been utilizing the INKforce(TM) software since 2008, productivity and efficiency have increased significantly by an average 30 percent, generating an estimated savings of $500,000. The National Association of Counties (NACO) honored Miami-Dade's exceptional improvement in its operations with a 2009 achievement award.

The INKforce(TM) software saves time and reduces errors by pre-populating forms with the county's customized coding system, streamlining the process so that, for example, in the case of a code inspection takes just one minute to document a violation. Compliance officers will have printers mounted in their vehicles, enabling them to issue citations and warnings to offenders on the spot. INKforce(TM) is developed on the Microsoft.net platform and highly configurable to existing workflows and best practices.
