InSeT Systems Secures International Partnership and Grant Funding
AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- InSeT Systems LLC, the technology company commercializing the patented Inertial Sensor Tracking and Communications System that dramatically aids rescue efforts in mines, tunnels, etc. announces a new strategic partnership with I-Contain and the receipt of an Ohio Coal Development Office grant of $330,000.
I-Contain will be an international distributor of InSeT's system for geographies including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and the Republic of South Africa. Along with providing InSeT Systems a presence in these areas, the partnership will allow InSeT to combine its underground system with I-Contain's above ground location technology. According to InSeT Systems COO, Jay Breeding, the combination will provide complete human and asset tracking above and below ground, which means improved safety and productivity for underground operations.
"It is clear that InSeT is leading the industry into new areas with its superior tracking unit," said I-Contain President, Todd Kleperis. "Before now, no system could get within three meters of a fallen person with reasonable certainty. InSeT's Inertial Sensor Tracking and Communications System has unheard-of accuracy, with its ability to pinpoint a person's location down to 10 feet."
InSeT Systems was also approved for an Ohio Coal Development Office grant, issued from the State of Ohio Jobs Stimulus fund. The $330,000 grant will be used to complete development of the Inertial Sensor Tracking and Communications System hardware and software and install a beta test system in early 2010.
"Establishment of this international partnership and receipt of this funding are validation of the technology and market need for our system," says Breeding. "Upon completion of our beta test system, we will be ready for full market entry in the U.S. and now, around the world."
About InSeT Systems
InSeT Systems LLC is dedicated to commercializing an inertial tracking system for underground mines and other GPS denied areas. The patented system will provide a number of operational improvements that meet the requirements of the Federal MINER Act of 2006. InSeT's system is superior to competing systems currently in use, which are based on RFID technology and accurate to 500 to 1,500 feet. The InSeT Systems device communicates a precise location several times per minute and is accurate to a radius of 10 feet. This precision is fundamental to InSeT's mission, which is to help underground workers go home safely to their families each night.
