The software will be used to support key operational decision making for Southern Company's 27,000 miles of transmission lines, 3,400 substations, and more than 300,000 acres of right-of-way. InStep is providing an Enterprise EMS historian license to be installed in a high-availability redundant configuration for Georgia Power, Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, and Gulf Power. The system will monitor 800,000 data streams. InStep's advanced visualization software, eDNA Web, will be used for enterprise wide access to near real-time and historical information across Southern Company's intranet. InStep will also be providing a historian for Southern Company's Distribution Management System and T&D substation field device needs under a separate agreement.
