MELBOURNE, Australia, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Instra Corporation, a global ccTLD and IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) leading registrar, is accepting pre-registration of .EU domains in different languages other than English. IDNs are domains which can contain characters from non-Latin character sets. Examples include some Swedish, German and Romanian characters as well as characters from the Bulgarian and Greek alphabets as a whole.

"EURid supports all 23 official EU languages, and our employees come from 20 of the 27 Member States. Supporting the use and growth of Internationalized Domain Names comes naturally to us." For the first time, residents of the European Union will be able to register a .EU domain name made up of non-Latin characters.

The languages supported by .EU are Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish.
