Insulindependence Welcomes Lane Desborough and Adam Brown to Board of Directors
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Felicia Gelsey, Chair, Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the election of Lane Desborough and Adam Brown to Insulindependence's Board of Directors.
Lane Desborough is Product Strategist for the diabetes business unit of Medtronic, where he applies his background and experience in closed loop systems, human factors, data science, and systems engineering to reducing the burden of diabetes. Lane holds a BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a MSc in Chemical Engineering Process Control from Queen's University. One of Lane's children has type 1 diabetes.
Adam Brown is the Chief of Staff at Close Concerns and Co-Managing Editor of diaTribe, where he focuses on the field of diabetes technology, especially continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pumps, and the artificial pancreas. Adam graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 pursuing concentrations in marketing and health care management and policy. Adam was a Joseph Wharton and Benjamin Franklin Scholar and completed his senior thesis on the motivational and financial factors associated with optimal diabetes control. He has had type 1 diabetes since age 12.
