Internet Star Benni Cinkle's new music video for "Gotta Get Out" to debut on MTV's popular Act blog on Thursday, July 12

LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- She's known online as "That Girl in Pink from the 'Friday' video," but on Thursday, July 12, 2012, when Benni Cinkle debuts the music video for her second single, "Gotta Get Out" on MTV's Act, Benni will once again establish herself as an emerging talent in her own right.

Act — MTV's popular blog that spotlights the efforts of young people and celebrities who are taking action on those things they are most passionate about — is a perfect fit for the 15-year-old who is also the founder of ThatGirlinPink, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that Benni established last year to better lend her support to the prevention of teen suicide, an issue that has affected her personally. Benni also authored That Girl in Pink's Internet Survival Guide, a free e-book that offers teens five simple but effective strategies for handling life online. She has also visited schools across the U.S. delivering her Don't Just Stand There anti-bullying presentation which now maintains a waiting list of schools across the country.

True to form, Benni will be donating a percentage of proceeds from the sales of her new single to Children of the Night, a non-profit organization established in 1979 for the rescue of children from the streets. "Gotta Get Out" is a follow up to Benni's first single, "Can You See Me Now," which she recorded after rising to unexpected Internet fame after appearing in "Friday." At first, Benni was ridiculed by millions around the world for her awkward dancing in the viral video and was often referred to as "That girl in pink that can't dance." At the time, the then 13-year-old realized she had been gifted a platform that offered international reach and decided to use the attention for something positive.

Although she was new to the spotlight, Benni's debut single was something she had written months earlier, in 2010. Inspired at the time by the stories she read on SixBillionSecrets.com, she wrote "Can You See Me Now" for teens dealing with bullying, abuse, depression, and self-harm. Thinking nothing would come of the song, Benni tucked it away in a drawer and forgot about it. After the release of the "Friday" video and the subsequent and unexpected attention, Benni thought it might be worthwhile to record "Can You See Me Now" and donate the proceeds to charities that help teens such as To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) and Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Upon its release, the single was added by over 30 radio stations, spun over 1200 times on radio, and charted at No. 30 in DJ Times. Since that time, Benni has been honored as a role model on SixBillionSecrets.com, has her own blog for The Huffington Post, been featured in The New York Times, and received the 2012 Kids Curing Kids Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

In her latest single, Benni explores what it's like to feel different from everyone else and to dream of escaping from the life others expect you to live.
