WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Investigative Project on Terrorism has published the complete recording and transcript of U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison's 2010 remarks made during a private fundraiser. Ellison claims that the IPT "selectively edited" the tape and took his comments out of context.

Releasing the full recording and a transcript proves Ellison lied, said IPT Executive Director Steven Emerson. "Nothing was taken out of context, and contrary to his claim, Ellison was not answering a question a simple question about American civics."
In those remarks, Ellison said American "foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense? Is that logic?"
After the IPT's publication of the comments, the Anti-Defamation League called them "deeply disturbing and disqualifying" because they "raise the specter of age-old stereotypes about Jewish control of our government." The ADL had supported Ellison's bid to lead the Democratic National Committee.
In the newly released recording, Ellison makes another comment that some consider anti-Semitic when he claims that Israel "has mobilized its diaspora in America to do its bidding in America."
