Investor Watchdog Launches Free Investment Performance Measurement Services
Individual investors use free Watchdog tools to make informed choices.
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Investor Watchdog announced the launch of free Benchmark and Performance Tracking services for individual investors. Jack Waymire, author of the highly regarded book, Who's Watching Your Money? (ISBN 0471476994), and an expert on performance measurement, lead the Watchdog team that developed these monitoring services.

"The biggest question facing most individual investors is how good is my investment performance," said Waymire. "Investors who manage their own assets rarely have this information. And, most investors who rely on financial advisors let advisors monitor themselves. In both situations, the absence of comparative performance data from an objective third party can lead to catastrophic consequences when investors do not have the assets they need to achieve their goals."
Investor Watchdog developed five benchmarks that use multiple asset classes and allocation to reflect declining risk tolerances as investors' age. The performance for last month and Year-to-Date was as follows:
|
Benchmark |
August, 2012 |
Year-to-Date, 2012 |
|
Maximum Growth |
2.87% |
9.55% |
|
Growth |
1.96% |
9.10% |
|
Growth & Income |
1.14% |
7.90% |
|
Income |
.33% |
5.63% |
|
Capital Preservation |

.77% |
So far, 2012 is performing well in relation to the long-term history of the securities markets. May was the only month that produced serious red ink for four of Watchdog's five investment performance benchmarks. For example, the Maximum Growth Benchmark was down 8.83% that month.
Watchdog's performance tools also include a free tracking service. Investors select a Benchmark and input their performance data monthly or quarterly. Advisors and CPAs can also input the performance data for investors. This Watchdog service produces a performance track record for investor assets.
Waymire described Watchdog's performance tools, "As game changing services because they provide the critical data that investors need to make informed decisions about their performance - for example, increasing or decreasing risk exposure, replacing under-performing advisors, and monitoring the achievement of financial goals. These performance-based decisions impact when investors retire, their standard of living during retirement, and their financial security late in life when they need it the most."
