Shortly before the FIFA Congress this Friday, the most important professional football leagues will come together in Zurich to form the new World Leagues Forum. The founding members of the World Leagues Forum include the Serie A (Italy), La Liga (Spain), die Bundesliga (Germany), La Ligue de Football Professionnel (France), the Premier League (England), the Eredivisie (Netherlands), Dimayor (Colombia), Major League Soccer (USA), Liga MX (Mexico), Premier Soccer League (South Africa), J League (Japan) and other important leagues of the world.

Some of the Presidents and founders of the World Leagues Forums will be present at the Press Conference:

The football leagues participating in the new World Leagues Forum represent approximately 1,100 clubs and 20,000 football players. At the last World Cup in Brazil, 90 per cent of the athletes played in one of the leagues represented in the Forum. The new forum will help to develop modern, effective governance structures within world football, foster cooperation between the Leagues and their member clubs through exchange of best practices and represent the Leagues and their member clubs on all matters of common interest towards sport and political institutions.
