WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IQ Micro Inc.
(Pink Sheets: IQMC), exclusive licensor of micro-pumps and micro-valves for
the rapidly emerging microfluidic technology sector, announced today that
it will present at the 10th International Conference on Miniaturized
Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences at the Tokyo International Forum,
Sunday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 9.
At the conference, IQ Micro Senior Scientist Trond Heldal will present
the latest, detailed information on the company's proprietary microfluidic
devices. The abstract for Heldal's industry paper, entitled "Low-Voltage
Microfabricated Pump Based on Electro-Osmosis of the Second Kind," was
among the top 8% of all papers accepted for presentation from more than 800
 submissions to the conference.
IQ Micro President and CEO Johnny Christiansen said, "As the industry
becomes rapidly aware of the latest technological improvements in the
microfluidics sector, we remain on the forefront of both academic study and
industry presentation. This conference is probably the most important
annual conference in the microfluidic sector, and we are pleased that IQ
Micro's novel technology has been accepted for a presentation at this
 year's conference."
About the International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for
 Chemistry and Life Sciences
The conference will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from November 5 through 9,
2006. It is co-sponsored by the Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano
Systems (Japan) and the Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society. The
conference will address all topics related to research on integrated
micro-systems and nanotechnology for chemistry and life sciences. Of prime
interest will be the continued progress in microfluidics and the multiple
applications of this technology. For more information, visit
     About Microfluidics
The microfluidic industry is a next generation of technology growing
out of the micro-chip industry. Unlike the traditional flow of electrical
current through a silicon chip, microfluidic technology involves circuits
of tiny chambers, channels and pumps that direct the flow of liquids on a
 single micro-chip.
     About IQ Micro
IQ Micro Inc. is an international licensing company that commercializes
proprietary technology developed for use in the microfluidics industry. The
company has acquired exclusive licensing rights to the technology developed
and patented by the Norwegian company Osmotex.
As part of its worldwide licensing agreement, Osmotex has secured an
85% ownership position in IQ Micro. The company is actively pursuing global
licensing opportunities for the patented "invisible pump," a microfluidic
technology with a wide range of consumer, medical and industrial
applications. With its proprietary technology and highly experienced
management, IQ Micro expects to become the leading global specialized
supplier of low-voltage microfluidic technology. For more information,
